In most homes, bathrooms tend to be the smallest rooms in the house. However they are often the most important. Considering the bathroom is where some people spend the majority of their morning, space is very important and at a premium. Sometimes those bathrooms can often feel like a small closet. No one wants to take a shower or do their hair in a closet do they?
That’s where bathroom space savers come in.
What are bathroom space savers?
Bathroom space savers are anything and everything that maximize the available space in your bathroom. This includes over the toilet cabinets and shelves, medicine cabinets, on the wall cabinets, floor cabinets, clothes hampers and more. There are literally hundreds of varieties of space savers available for your bathroom. Below is a list of a few of those space savers.
Over the toilet cabinets and shelves
By far, the most popular bathroom space savers are over the toilet cabinets. Over the toilet space savers usually have either shelves, cabinets or drawers (sometimes all three) and come in a variety of materials. Wood, MDF and metal are the most popular materials. They are designed to fit right over your existing toilet and require no installation. However, most do need to be assembled. These are very practical if you do not have storage underneath your sink because your bathroom contains a pedestal sink or if you’ve simply run out of space in your current storage areas. This is by far the easiest product to add to the bathroom which adds instant space saving storage.
On the wall cabinets
Like your kitchen, storage is at a premium in your bathroom. And like your kitchen you can install wall cabinets in your bathroom to reduce clutter and add extra storage. Bathroom wall cabinets are made in a variety of styles and you’ll most likely be able to match your current decor in your bathroom. On the wall cabinets are very useful if your bathroom needs extra storage and you do not want that storage to be located on the floor. This is a great place to store those items you want to keep out of reach of little hands (I mean kids here, not small adults). The downside to on the wall cabinets is that they have to be installed. Installation usually requires drilling into a stud and attaching the installation hardware to it.
Floor Cabinets
If you need a little extra storage and have the available space on your floor, a floor cabinet is one of the easiest ways to add instant storage to your bathroom. Available in a huge number of varieties, you can usually find one to match your current decor. Most come with shelving that allows for even more space saving storage.
